Description

This course mainly focuses on:

Yang-Style Tai Chi Chuan was finalized after three generations of research and practice by the Yang family. It is the most widely spread Tai Chi Chuan style with the largest number of practitioners around the world.

The most significant differences between Yang-Style Tai Chi Chuan and other Tai Chi Chuan schools lie in its “graceful stretch” and “airy elegance”. It is characterized by a serene and composed manner, gentle and slow movements, and flexible and smooth transitions. When practicing it, the beauty of form is revealed in its softness, and a grandeur is embodied in its solemnity. Its unique integration of consciousness, breathing, and movements fully demonstrates the features of Tai Chi, such as “softness with hidden hardness, hardness within softness, using stillness to counteract movement, and remaining still even while moving”. Among various martial arts styles, it is more implicit and exudes a stronger cultural heritage. Its mantras are the most refined and full of scholarly flavor, which is one of the main reasons for its wide popularity.

Completing the 85-form Yang-Style Tai Chi Chuan routine in one go is no easy feat. Firstly, it requires a certain level of internal energy cultivation, and secondly, proper guidance from a master is essential. The instructor of this course, Ms. Li Huilin, a renowned Yang-Style Tai Chi Chuan master, adopts an in-depth and easy-to-understand teaching method by dividing the routine into sections. She explains in detail the movements and key points of each form, enabling beginners to follow the practice easily and master the essence of the 85-form movements.
