This course mainly focuses on:
Bagua Zhang is one of the four major types of Chinese martial arts. It mainly features palm techniques and walking in circles. By integrating martial arts with guiding qi and regulating breathing, it combines the strengths of various martial arts styles and incorporates internal skills and boxing techniques into one system, being both offensive and defensive.
Dragon-Form Bagua Zhang was created by Li Cunyi, a renowned master of Xingyi Quan, who absorbed the essence of Xingyi Quan and Bagua Zhang. When performing it, the body and steps display the momentum of a soaring dragon. It’s as if the dragon is flying high in the sky and diving in the sea of clouds. The head and tail, palms and thighs, waist and body, eyes, all move and dance, looking around and turning, forming a seamless flow from beginning to end, thus earning the name Dragon-Form Bagua Zhang.
Practicing Bagua Zhang emphasizes the combined training of the body and mind. One should be quick and agile, like a dragon swimming in the air, twisting, turning, and flipping, with ever-changing palm techniques. During practice, the speed can be fast or slow, the force can be strong or soft, and the intensity can be light or heavy. Its functions of physical fitness and self – defense complement each other, and practitioners can choose according to their needs. It is highly practical, easy to learn, and useful for both fitness and self – defense.
